Solar Flood Light

The general description says the light is motion activated, but the tech specs say "Motion Activated: No" - Please clarify. Thanks, Michael

We apologize for the confusion and understand that it seems its contradicting but in fact its not. The light does have a motion sensor but the light is not considered motion activated because the motion sensor does not activate the light to turn on. Motion Activated means that the light turns on when motion is detected but in this light fixtures case when motion is detected it gets brighter. The fixture automatically turns on at dusk and illuminates at 150 lumens, when motion is detected it will illuminate at the full 1000 lumens for 30 seconds. This fixture does have an option to stay at a constant brightness for the first 1 or 2 hours either at 500 or 1000 lumens and then it will go into that dim lighting mode i just explained until dawn when it will automatically turns off.

Is there a setting that allows the light to remain on full time?...at least until power runs low.

Hello Chuck, thank you for your question! Unfortunately, it is not possible. The main reason behind this is due to the fact that the power consumption of the light, staying at high brightness for overnight use is too high. Even if the light had a function to do so, it would only be able to run on full brightness for one night, and for the current charging rate, the Light can only operate for a couple of hours again on the second day. Even if every day is 100% bright and sunny.

Can these be mounted on posts?

They can be mounted on a post, however, the top of the post must be flat. As you can see in the photos the base of the unit is flat and has 4 holes so you can screw the light in place. Many of our customer use these on top of wooden fence posts.

A smaller version with red and green filters would be great for my moored sailboat!

At the moment we do not offer this light in multi-colors. Only soft-white is available.

Hi, I want to provide lighting inside a shipping container. The container contains gear oils and lubricants used for maintenance by a dredging crew. I want the lights to be able to turn on for relatively short periods as required even in daylight hours is this possible?

This solar light would work for your application. The solar light automatically turns on when its dark, and since the container will get no sunlight, in theory the light will be on at all times. You can keep the light from turning on when you don't need it by using the remote control to turn off the entire light fixture. The remote can turn the light on and off at any time. When the light is on, it will illuminate at a dim setting until motion is detected, and then it will illuminate at the full 1000 lumens for about 30 seconds before going back down to its dim setting.

Is there an on & off switch ?

This solar powered landscape light does not have a on/off button. The solar landscape light automatically turns on at dusk and automatically shuts off at dawn. It will illuminate at the full 100 lumens for the first 5 hours and then will dim to about 25 lumens for the remainder of the night.

This solar powered landscape light does come with a very sturdy pole. The pole included is not a solid piece of metal and does have a hollow center but don't let that fool you, the pole is made high quality aluminum alloy. The remote, aside from turning the light on and off, controls the timer setting. You can control the timer for 1 or 2 hours at 50% or 100% brightness. One remote can certainly control multiple lights. You can control up to 5 light maximum with one remote.

The battery is built into the light fixture and does not need to be removed to be charged. As long as the solar panel provided is connect to the light fixture via cable the battery will charge during the day when the solar panel is harvesting sunlight. All you have to do is install the light fixture as per the instructions provided and let the sun and the light fixture do the rest.

These lights are not intended to be installed on soil. The lights would need to be installed on a solid surface that you are able to use anchor screws to anchor the solar light in place. We do not offer any other mounts besides the one that's already built in to the solar light fixture.

Do I need batteries to make it work?

DEELAT solar powered landscape and garden lights come with a built in battery. You do not need anything else other than what is in the photo. All that needs to be done is install the solar powered light in an area where the solar panel can get direct sunlight. The solar panel will charge the internal battery during the day and will automatically turn on at dusk and automatically turn off at dawn. Once it shuts off at dawn it will go back into charging mode and recharge the battery for the next night.

A small dog or cat will trigger the PIR on the solar powered security light and will turn on the solar light to full brightness for about 30 seconds of no motion being detected.

Hi, Can you tell me if can be painted to match the house?

We do not recommend you paint the solar light fixture for a couple of reasons. The main one being that it will void your warranty and the second is that the paint will not hold to the surface of the light fixture and will begin to peel.

Hello I own a Motel. I wish to light up the driveway entry for approx 8-10 hours will this light maintain 1000lms for that period.

This solar powered security light will not emit 1000 lumens of light for a period of 9-10 hours. This solar powered light fixture has the option to run at either 500 or 1000 lumens for the first 1-2 hours and then it will go into dim mode. Dim mode means the solar powered light will dim to 150 lumens and will remain at that brightness until motion is detected. When motion is detected it will illuminate at 500 lumens for 30 seconds and then dim back down to 150 when no motion is detected. Do I need to use screw to install the spike?

The spike already has threads on it so you would screw the actual spike into the rest f the steam of the solar landscape light. The entire stem and spike are made out of aluminum alloy and not cheap plastic so its guaranteed to be very sturdy.

The dim light during the motion mode is 150 lumens and its brightness is about the equivalent of a 15W incandescent light bulb. Its just bright enough to see but will certainly not bother the neighbors. It will stay at 150 lumens until motion is detected and then will illuminate at full brightness of 500 lumens for about 30 seconds and then will dim back to 150 until motion is detected again.

What's the optimum angle to install the solar panel to maximize sunlight?

Its hard to answer that question because it differs with everyone. It really depends on the location you are installing the solar security light. The key is to install the panel where it will get the most sunlight meaning try to install the panel where it will get hit by direct sunlight with no obstruction for the longest period.

The lithium battery can certainly be replaced but we highly recommend you do not replace it on your own. You are absolutely correct that the lights is completely sealed. The battery can be replaced but would need to be done by the manufacturer. The need to replace battery is roughly every 3 years.

Does this model have a Spike base available to allow me to push it into the ground?

This solar light does not come with a spike base. The base you see in the photos is how this light fixture comes and is intended to be anchored with screws to a flat surface.

How do you connect the light to the ground

This solar light does have a few different lighting modes. 1. You turn on unit by pressing the light button till indicator light turns on. 2. the default setting is indicated by a Red Indicating Light which means it is in M1 mode with is dim 10% brightness + PIR 100% brightness till dawn. 3. If you click the button one more time it will switch the indicator to a Green Indicating Light which is M2: dim 30% brightness + PIR 100% brightness till dawn. 4. Hold down button again until the indicator light is off to completely turn off unit.

Hello, is this product suited to withstand long exposure to salt water for sea spray?

This Solar Light has a waterproof rating of IP65. Which means it is weatherproof. The light cannot be submerged but will be able to withstand all normal elements such as dust, dirt, rain, snow, etc. The lights have also be salt tested and can certainly withstand sea spray.

Can the motion sensor in this unit be replaced with a timer say from sundown to 8 pm. I need a light inside a chicken coop 5' x 8'

Unfortunately the motion sensor cannot be replaced with a timer. The light has a lux meter which automatically turns the unit on and off based on sunset and sunrise timing.

I only want the light to come on when motion triggers it, and can it turn on just the lower output of 500 lumens?

This solar powered security light does get triggered by motion, however, it will illuminate at the full 1000 lumen for roughly 30 seconds and then dims down until motion is detected again. The light does not completely shut off when there is no motion the light will illuminate at 5% or 15% brightness (mode 1 or 2).

What if it snows on the solar panel, would that block the ability to recharge?

f there is heavy snow and it covers the entire solar panel then yes it will certainly affect the charging of the battery. It will slow down the charging speed. The panel is recommended to me installed at an angle to avoid large snow build ups. Extremely cold temperatures can also affect the charge time.

Can I transport this item on an air plane with the batteries

The solar security light will not be allowed to be on a plane due to the light fixture containing a Li-ion Battery. Airlines list li-ion batteries as a dangerous good.

Can the 17" tall light be buried half way into the landscape bed, so that it does not stand so tall?

We do not recommend to bury the post of the light as it can begin to corrode because of the soil.

Hi, is it possible to have it on the maximum brightness setting for the whole night? Can it be reset after 5 hrs to max brightness setting? Or after 8 hours will it continue on the 100 lumens setting?

This light has 2 modes: (1) 100% brightness of 300 Lumens, then 15% brightness of 45 Lumens till morning; and (2) 100% brightness of 300 Lumens for 5 hours, then 15% brightness of 45 Lumens, and finally 100%.

Can this light be installed at a lower height?

The light can be installed at any height you wish as long as it is about 8 feet/2.5 meters away from the area you want to illuminate.

How do you activate T1-T4 on the remote?

T1 through T4 are timing functions. For example, if you choose 100% light for 1 hour, then press T1. After 1 hour the light will go back to the default mode M1.

What are the T1-T4 buttons used for on the remote?

The light does have a motion sensor but it is not considered motion activated because the motion sensor does not activate the light to turn on. One D1776420 light will come with one set of solar panels. If you try to connect a panel to two lights, both lights can't be fully charged. Therefore, we suggest you use one solar panel for one light.

Yes, the Solar Flood Light - 2000 Lumens LED (D1776420) is used from dusk to dawn. It turns on the evenings at the desired brightness level until morning. We usually recommend to run at 60% or lower if you are in a region where there is less sunshine to run multiple nights without any problems. The Solar Flood Lights can be mounted on a she-shed with the appropriate brackets for the solar panels.

Can I buy the bulb for the Solar Flood Light (D1776420) since I already have the solar panel?

We recommend to only use the LED lights (D1776420) with DEELAT Solar Panels. The DEELAT Solar Flood Lights are explicitly designed for our solar panels, and they are not sold separately.

I have a circular concrete slab (11.5" diameter and 2" thick). Can I use the Solar Garden Light as the base of the pole on my front lawn?

The concrete slab seems heavy and strong enough to hold the pole in place. However, you will still want to secure the slab into the ground by anchoring it somehow. Strong winds could still blow it over if not secured properly.

Is the Solar Flood Light (D1776420) also an indoor mode (or manual mode) that allows the user to turn on the light and keep it on until desired. In this mode, the light will not turn off automatically during daylight hours and must be turned off manually. Could this function be used outdoors?

The Solar Flood Light (D1776420) received an upgrade this year with additional lumens outputting at 3000 maximum brightness. It now has three brightness modes to choose from with a timer mode and manual on/off switch. It's only used at night when the sensor recognizes it is sufficiently dark. The manual mode does allow the user to turn on the light outdoors.

As answered in another question for this solar flood light, "This fixture does have an option to stay at a constant brightness for the first 1 or 2 hours either at 500 or 1000 lumens." If I purchase the 3000 lumens model, will its first 1-2 hours of full brightness be at 3000 lumens or still only at 500-1000 lumens? Why's there a lumens range for the full brightness and not simply the full brightness which the model offers?

Deelat has upgraded the 2000 Lumens model to a 3000 lumens model and some of its features have changed. For our 3000 Lumens SKU#: D1776420, in Timer mode, you can select a 1 or 2 hour timer, which will run on full brightness if you increase the brightness to 100%. You can run at a lower brightness in timer mode by selecting the percentage of the brightness desired.

I am trying to get a solar light so that we can have a solar panel outside that will power a light inside our garden shed. Can the solar panel do that?

You can use our Solar Floodlights such as the SKU#: D1776420 in an application in which you want to light up the interior of a garden shed. Keep in mind, the solar light will turn on during the night when the panel is recognizing that it is dark outside.
